Utility-Scale Distributed Generation

Powering the
future of energy

Holocene develops, finances, and delivers solar generation facilities that strengthen grid reliability for electric cooperatives and communities across the Mid-Atlantic.

Holocene Clean Energy has created an innovative strategy in the distributed solar generation space. We work with electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, generation and transmission organizations and joint action agencies to reduce dependency on traditional fuels, increase grid reliability, and improve efficiency of power delivery.

Our distributed generation facilities deliver renewable energy at competitive prices, while providing meaningful benefits to the local communities we serve. As an industry leader, Holocene is building the foundation for the future of solar power supply, battery storage, and delivery.

In Memory of Ralph Thompson

Ralph Thompson, 68, founder and Chairman of Holocene Clean Energy, passed away on January 19th after an eight-year battle with colon cancer. His faith, optimism, and vision for renewable energy guided the company from its founding in 2008 through its transition from solar thermal design to utility-scale photovoltaic systems.

Ralph was intent that Holocene be positioned for long-term success in an ever-evolving business environment. He drew people to him with grace, calm, and insightfulness. We have been privileged to have known, worked with, and learned from him.
